The History of Walton Community Church
WCC is a planned church plant sent out from Rockdale Community Church in Conyers, GA, to preach Christ in the city of Monroe, Walton County, and surrounding communities.
In the summer of 2017, a core group of eight families began meeting together to pray and discuss the possibility of a church plant in Walton County. By God’s grace, WCC was commissioned as a church plant in February 2018, and our first Sunday morning worship service was held on February 18, 2018. Founding Elders Jeff Redding and Greg Gajownik, providentially, were able to rent a beautiful traditional Church building on Mears Street in downtown Monroe, GA, that was owned by a school. The church building became available for purchase in 2020 and Walton Community Church decided to acquire the property and building. The Lord blessed WCC which saw tremendous growth as the Lord added new people to our community of believers. To serve and care for our growing church body, additional Elders and Deacons were added to the leadership team in 2021. Join us for worship and connect with us by inquiring into a WCC Small Group near you. We invite you to grow with us as we seek to know the Lord and to love one another in an enduring community.
