Frequently Asked Questions
When do you meet?
Every Sunday morning at 10:00 A.M.
What should I expect?
Our services will typically last an hour and a half and will feature songs of worship, public Scripture reading, corporate prayer, biblical preaching, and the receiving of the Lord’s Supper (or Communion). Although our congregation is on the younger side, we hold to the historic beliefs of the Protestant Reformation and our services are probably considered more traditional/ancient/historic (e.g., we often read out loud the Lord’s Prayer and the Apostles’ Creed, and we often sing the Doxology). After service, please consider staying a few minutes for complimentary coffee so we can get to know you.
Will I be singled out?
Uh, no. Never. We will never ask visitors to stand and be recognized, come to the front, give a testimony, etc. We are a friendly church, so folks will greet you and want to talk with you. But we know how hard it is visiting a new church, and we don’t want to add to the difficulty by singling you out.
Do I have to bring a Bible?
If you have a Bible, feel free to bring it. But if you do not have a Bible, please don’t let that stop you from attending our worship service. And when you come, we would love to give you a Bible to take home.
What if I’m not a Christian, will I be welcomed?
Absolutely. We would be privileged if you joined us, regardless if you are a Christian, a skeptic, or exploring Christianity. Many of us (including the teachers/ preachers) did not grow up in the church, were skeptics, or came to faith later in life. You will absolutely be welcomed at WCC. Also, because learning about something new takes time, we would encourage you to return each week and continue exploring. (We know this is asking a lot, but we hope you’ll take us up on our invitation.)
